Federal and State Meat Industry Awards and Agreements
Never has there been a greater need to seek advice from AMIC staff about these matters.
We presently have a situation where the system distinguishes between Constituational Corporations ('Pty Ltd' entities as examples) and non-Constitutional Corporates (sole traders or partnerships as examples). Constitutional Corporations are all under the Federal System, though there are some award differences for WA Tasmania AMIC members compared to members in other States.
Members of AMIC who operate non-Constitutional Corporations are treated differently to 'Pty Ltd' entities. In some States the Federal Meat Awards apply to the non-CCs, while in WA and Tasmania the State Awards still apply to non-CCs.
Over and above the Awards there are agreements that may be implemented at workplaces. Depending upon the legislation and where a member resides depends on what can be inserted into the agreement and what may be barred because of various provisions of any legislation.
To understand or ask questions you should contact AMIC staff for further advice.
