The newly named Northbridge Piazza in Perth played host to the 2007 AMIC National Sausage King on Saturday, March 3rd. The State Kings did themselves all proud, with every entry sampled by the 3500 strong crowd, a taste pleaser.
The day proved extremely popular with Perth locals as around thousands of people came throughout the day to taste for themselves what the fuss was all about. And taste they did! 4500 sausages were cooked up and eaten on the Saturday. The AMIC staff and councilors struggling to keep up with demand. |

As the event was held as part of the City of Perth’s Wine and Food month, AMIC invited other, complimentary retailers to join in the action at Northbridge Park. After everyone tasted an exceptional sausage, Harvey OJ found their stall inundated, handing out well over 2000 sample juice boxes.
Vittoria Coffee also brewed up a storm on the day, and as the parents enjoyed a cuppa, their kids enjoyed the balloon and sticker giveaways courtesy of MLA. |
After an exhausting day of judging and entertaining the crowds, everyone thoroughly deserved to relax and enjoy themselves as the winners were announced at the National Sausage King dinner proudly sponsored by DEVRO, held again at the Sheraton Hotel.
With 180 people in attendance, MC Verity James from ABC Television, set the tone for the evening with a brilliant introduction and her own “awards” to some of the members. |
