Brisbane Royal Show
Each year AMIC participates in the Brisbane Royal Show. At the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA) MEATHALL, the AMIC stand features an interesting array of cooking demonstrations, sausage making and product tasting on every day of the Show.
The
Smallgoods Competitions
and
Butchers Choice Competition
take place at the Show. The day before the show opens, butchers and smallgoods makers throughout Queensland submit their entries in the annual Smallgoods Competition for tasting and judging. This event has become one of the most popular competitions of the year. The entrants' best hams, cooked corned silverside, pre-cooked sausages, bacon and cold platters are put forward for judging. The winner's product is left on display throughout the duration of the show.
A new and increasingly popular competition is the Butchers Choice, held on the first Saturday of the show. The two categories to enter are "Wet Meat Dish" and "Meat Pie or Pastry Dish". Once again, the winner's product is left on display throughout the duration of the show.
The State finals of the
Sausage King Competition
take place on People's Day. Trays of sausages are cooked and sampled by judges, giving the State winner access to the National Sausage King final.

Adelaide Royal Show
AMIC's participation at the Adelaide Royal Show is within the Royal Farm Expo site under the heading, "The Meating Place". There are sausage making and meat demonstrations each day. A commercial catering company and an Independent Local Butcher Shop also demonstrate key features of their business.
