The NSW State Final
The Independent Local Butcher’s NSW State Sausage King Competition final was held on 15 October in conjunction at the Northside Produce Market held in North Sydney.
This prestigious competition is the culmination of the Regional Sausage King Competitions that take place over three months at eight of the NSW TAFE Colleges. The 100 odd winners from 19 regional locations in the six categories competed for the title of NSW Sausage King. The winners will now advance to the National Final in February 2012 for the ultimate crown of National Sausage King.
This is the first year that the State Final was held at the Northside Produce Market, a village type market with over 60 stalls offering a wide range of fresh seasonal goods.

Northside Produce Market was awarded the best market in Sydney by the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Shopping Guide Award 2011. Our event was featured as part of the Herald’s “Crave Sydney International Food Festival” which runs throughout October. It was an ideal venue to highlight the state’s best sausages made by AMIC’s Independent Local Butchers.
