The 2017 Awards for Excellence Dinner
The WA 2017 Awards for Excellence Presentation Dinner was held October 28th at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Perth. It was a fabulous night of celebration, industry networking and the presentation of trophies in the 2017 WA Competition program.
122 guests enjoyed the function with winners in the Sausage King, Best Butchers Burger and Apprentice Competition taking home their trophies.

All of the category winners will now head to Victoria in February 2018 for the National Competition Program.

WA Retail Council Chairman Nathan Walmsley and AMIC CEO Patrick Hutchinson extended their welcome to the guests and it wasn’t long after the awards were presented that guests filled the dance floor to kick up their heels.

AMIC congratulates all of the competition entrants and to the winners across the competition categories. We also extend our ongoing thanks to the WA industry partners who provided their support in making this a truly memorable night.

Finally, thank you to everyone who attended, your participation is very much appreciated.

The Pink Butcher
AMIC AND BREAST CANCER NETWORK AUSTRALIA (BCNA) have joined forces to create the PINK BUTCHER program, a community based initiative that will assist the Independent Local Butcher Network giving back to the community in which they serve.

All butchers across Australia are invited to pink up their shops for the month of October to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).
It all started when Sam (BCNA Community Liaison) at Seaford Gourmet Meats in South Australia turned her shop pink in October. It inspired her fellow butchers to follow her example and The Pink Butcher was founded.

Every day, 48 Australians will hear the words 'You have breast cancer.'

With your help, BCNA works to ensure that Australians affected by breast cancer receive the very best support, information, treatment and care appropriate to their individual needs.

To join The Pink Butcher campaign, complete the registration form and once BCNA receives it they will send you a pink starter pack to help you on your way.

The PINK BUTCHER campaign is an opportunity for you to connect with your customers and make a difference via your business operations. In 2016, AMIC Members in South Australia started looking at this idea and over 100 stores participated in many activities. Only your imagination can stop you in delivering the PINK BUTCHER program. What you create and how you bring the concept to life will assist our communities in which we operate in.
